| Mechanism Of 13C UBT For Diagnose Hp |
There's no urease in normal human stomach, however, Hp produce urease, urease can hydrolyze urea to ammonia and carbon dioxide. If there's Hp infection in patient stomach and ask patient to take 13C labeled urea, the urea will be hydrolyzed by Hp ureasee to NH4 and CO2, 13CO2 enter the blood and will be exhaled through lung, the proportion of 13C in exhaled air will Increase. The 13C/12C value can be measured by sensitive mass spectrography or infrared spectormeter, this is how we use 13C UBT to diagnose Hp infection and it's extent in clinic. |
